Nursing Homes provide the highest level of care of any care home. Registered nurses are available around the clock. Generally, residents are receiving rehabilitation care after falls, accidents, strokes, heart attacks or surgeries. Residents may have medical and behavioral needs that cannot be met in other care settings. Most residents must share a room. Space is limited, but residents are allowed to bring personal items to encourage a more home-like atmosphere. Private rooms are often available but are more expensive. Nursing homes are licensed by the Department of Human Services & Senior’s and People with Disabilities Agency and are required to meet both federal and state regulations.

Costs in a Nursing Home depend a lot on whether the client is sharing a room or has a private room. Client’s health care needs are another important factor as well. Low range can be around $7,000 per month to as high as $12,000 per month. Check with your insurance carrier to see what coverage is provided with your policy. You may be required to pay privately.
